About Shell Undergraduate Scholarship

The Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) of Nigeria Limited (Operator of the NNPC/SHELL/TEPN/AGIP Joint Venture) Scholarship Scheme provides second-year students at all Nigerian universities with an annual grant from the SPDC JV for the duration of their course. The scholarship aims to promote academic excellence and the development of young Nigerians’ skills.

There are two types of merit-based scholarships: the National Merit Award (NM) and the Areas of Operation Merit Award (AOM) (OM).

The National Merit Award (NM): Is open to all Nigerians.
The Areas of Operation Merit Award (OM): is for Nigerians who are indigenes of SPDC’s operational areas in Abia, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, and Rivers State.

Shell Undergraduate Scholarship 2022 Eligibility and Requirements

To be considered eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must;

Be Nigerian citizens currently enrolled in an accredited course at a NUC-approved university in Nigeria.
Have been admitted and are enrolled in a first-year program.
Have a minimum of seven credits in their 0/Levels, including Mathematics and English.
You must be enrolled full-time in a Nigerian university at the undergraduate level and have a minimum grade point average of 2.5. (attach transcripts or official records)

All applicants should have their personal valid email account (for consistent communication)
Applicants for Operational Area Awards are required to provide scanned copies of letters of identification, which must be duly stamped and signed by:
1. The Paramount Ruler of the Community; and
2. The Chairman of the Community Development (CDC)
3. The Chairman of the Executive Council (CEC)
Candidates who meet the above eligibility criteria should apply online at: www.shellnigeria.com. Scanned copies of the following documents should be attached to the application: A recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant { i.e. jpeg format, not more than 200kilobytes);
University or JAMB Admission Letter;
JAMB Score;
‘‘O’ Level Result(s); and ‘A’ Level /OND /NCE Result(s) as applicable; and
Letter of Identification from State {showing Local Government) of Origin
Applicants for the Operational Area Awards must also upload scanned copies of letters of identification, (which must be duly stamped and signed) by the Paramount Ruler of the Community; AND
The Chairman of the Community (Development or Executive) Council {CDC or CEC).

The letters should be addressed to The Manager, Social Investment, Shell Petroleum Development Company, Prodeco 5, Room 10, Shell Industrial Area, Rumubiakani, Port Harcourt.

NOTE

Each document must not exceed 200KB and the image format must be JPEG.
Shell does not demand payment from applicants. The application is FREE of charge
SPDC JV does not assign ‘Representatives’ / ‘Agents’ to assist applicants in processing applications
