As a student registered at Jönköping University, you have the possibility to study for 3-12 months at one of our Erasmus+ partner universities. All students that are selected and nominated as Erasmus students can apply for an Erasmus+ scholarship for studies. The scholarship is an EU funded financial support to help you cover additional costs related to your mobility abroad.

Covid-19 and Erasmus+ scholarship for studies, autumn 2020

Due to COVID-19 and its many consequences on international mobility projects, the process for the Erasmus+ scholarship for studies may be affected. If any changes will be made, you will receive more information via e-mail.

The European Commission has decided that the Erasmus+ scholarship will be granted only for the physical part of the mobility (physical mobility) and not for the virtual part (virtual mobility).

  • Physical mobility = on-site studies in the host country, either on campus or entirely or partially online
  • Virtual mobility = online studies that do not take place in the host country, but from Sweden or another country than the host country
  • Blended mobility = a combination of physical and virtual mobility

A link to an online form will be sent to students for a follow-up.

Due to the increased concern about the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions that come along with it, it might currently be difficult to complete international exchange mobilities.

Below you can find some advice on what to do if you are currently participating in Erasmus+ mobility studies abroad.

The following advice applies in cases where the host country is sharpening its restrictions (for example in case of a lockdown) and you have to get back to Sweden (or another country that is not the host country).

Erasmus+ scholarship

Please keep in mind that you will receive the scholarship only for the physical part of the mobility, but not for the virtual part.

If your mobility has changed/will change, please ask the contact person at the host university to fill in your Certificate of Attendance. This is normally done at the end of the semester, but since you are ending your physical mobility in advance, it is good if we can get the dates that you have been in the host country already now (start and end date of physical mobility).

You can upload it in Intapps.

If the host university is not willing to sign the Certificate of Attendance now, then please ask them to at least confirm the dates of your physical mobility in an email to us. They can use the following e-mail address: erasmus@ju.se.

This will allow us to calculate the right amount of scholarship you are entitled to. Please be aware that if you already received the first payment, it might be possible that you will be liable for repayment.
