Difference between the Wurlitzer 200a, 200 – The Wurlitzer Electric Piano model 200 was the 1st Wurlitzer Electric Piano evolve from the wooden Wurlitzer Electric Pianos right from 1960’s.
Wurlitzer Electric Pianos was introduced in 1968; this was the starting of the classic model years for Wurlitzer Electric Pianos.
The Wurlitzer Electric Pianos model 200 was lighter and sleeker due to it’s new ABS plastic contoured top.
a new design was featured a action as well as two 4×8 speakers, an updated amplifier design which now implemented new Silicon Transistors as opposed to Germanium.

In the year 1975 Wurlitzer came out with Wurlitzer Electric piano model 200A and stands as one of the best piano model.
It almost look the same in appearance to the Wurlitzer Electric Piano model 200, the changes were subtle and mostly on the inside.
Wurlitzer updated the amplifier once again by placing the pre amp at the top of the hard to reduce the noise and make it more better.
They used an LDR for the vibrato insteas of modulating the pre amp gain with a reactance modulation.

A shielding kit was added for AC HUM reduction and the extra shield on the pick ups to reduce noise.

Thousands of people keep on wonder about the sound differences between the two models and the untrained ear the differences are almost undetectable.
Therefore 200A had a depth pot on the tremolo that could be able to made to sound stronger than the one of the 200 model but at the same time it could as well easily distort if is up to high.
The output signal of the 200A was as greater and had less noise than 200 model. Also the reeds in the later 200A MODEL were of a thicker plate which made the tone fuller with a mellow overtone.
