2022 Clinical Social Worker Job Requirement
Education/Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Social work and three (3) years of experience in clinical social work.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:
- Current Nevada State License as a Clinical Social Worker.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements
- Recent documented experience in an acute care setting (hospital, or similar setting)
- Flexible hours, availability weekends & evenings.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements
Knowledge of:
Individual, group, and family counseling theories; federal, state, and case law applicable to clinical counseling; acute and chronic psychological conditions; social and environmental factors affecting clients to be served; small group theory, behavioral dynamics, and group interaction; coping skills, strategies and defense mechanisms; behavior management techniques; community resources; psychological conditions and psychopathology; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; patient rights; infection control policies and practices; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures; age-specific patient care practices.Skill in:

Assessing mental health state of patients and developing effective treatment plans; building therapeutic alliances; observing and interpreting verbal/non-verbal behavior and applying counseling theories; handling difficult and sensitive situations using good judgment; mediating conflicts resulting in a positive outcome; diffusing emergency and highly volatile situations using effective crisis intervention techniques; creating innovative solutions to patient’s needs; establishing and maintaining detailed patient and treatment case files; preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence and written memoranda; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds under stressful conditions; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a VDT screen, hearing and speech to communicate effectively in person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or an eligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
